From 1975 to the present day, Chuck has been in the private practice of law, wherein he has specialized in the area of intellectual property which includes patent law, and as such has engaged in all aspects of patent law practice, including conducting patent searches in the U.S. Patent Office ; preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent Office ; conducting patent infringement and validity studies; negotiating and preparing license agreements; litigating as trial counsel patent infringement lawsuits, which included issues of trade secret, unfair competition, and anti-trust. Chuck has served as expert witness in several intellectual property matters and lectured before groups regarding intellectual property matters.
